The game is a procedural framework now for telling the stories of your pantheon of demigods as they settle the multiverse. I think they've realized this is the way the community is leaning, and honestly, I'm incredibly delighted by it. I don't want the studio to spend 40% of their time developing handcrafted scenarios which would represent <5% of my total playtime. Now I'm not going to begrudge a story existing, but with a finite number of developer-hours to spend on a product, what I want is primarily rock solid core systems. It's not how I ever spend most of my hours playing an Age of Wonders game, and that's true of a lot of people. ![]() If you can find it some six hunderd pages back. While I like the idea of a story being existing, and there being a framework mythology for the game to exist in, it's not even close to the drawing point of the game for me. Yeah the campaign is one of the topic's i complained about. Well I don't like Hard games particularly when Im' dicovering a bunch of rules and mechanisms, so I'm not even sure that I should restart again and this time at Hard. I suppose it's players mass that push games be similar in stuff that majority of players are looking for. I prefer the mood of AoW3 than of Engless Legend, Warlock 2 and FELH, but I have the feeling to play the variations of the same game which is tedious. ![]() ![]() The problem is so many similar game now only have skirmish and almost none have an interesting AI. Originally posted by Dorok:Ok thank you, frankly beginning of the discovery campaign at normal feels like what you describe for easy.īut I wonder if I'll restart again the campaign, anyway I'm starting realizing it's more a skirmish game than a campaign game, and the campaign is just a guided skirmish.įor me AoW1 was more a campaign game and I admit it's what I was expected (never playerd AoW2 and more).
